26th “Padmarajan anusmaranam took place from 21st to 23rd of January, 2017, at Njavarakkal, his ancestral home, in Muthukulam. Literary competitions for school and college students were conducted on the first day. Good participation of students was there for the competitions. Smt. Vidhu Vincent and Sri. Appu Bhattathiri distributed the prizes for the winners of the various literary competitions held.

The commemoration function on 23rd started with lighting the lamp by Padmarajan’s daughter Smt. Madhavikutty, followed by his son Sri. Ananthapadmanabhan , wife Smt. Radhalakshmy and his grandchildren, Rithuparnan and Hrishikesh ,followed by “Pushparchana”, by Padmarajan’s family members and people from various walks of life, offered flowers at his resting place. Sri. Ramesh Chennithala, opposition leader, inaugurated the remembrance function and the Painting exhibition “Orma”, presented by the renowned Artists, Bhattathiri and K.P Muraleedharan, based on Padmarajan’s works.

Workshop on film and literature followed the main function, The workshop was lead by Sri. Vijayakrishnan. Other eminent personalities like Vinu Abraham(writer), Lijin Jose (Director), Yadu Vijayakrishnan (cinematographer), Sumesh Lal (Head, kappa TV), Sajin Raghavan (Director), Anil Dev (Producer) Jithu Johny (Actor), Aiswarya Rajeev (Serial Artist), Arun Nambiar (Serial Artist) were present on the dais.

Rasheed, Padmarajan’s hero in “Oridathoru Phayalvan” attended the event as our special guest. He was honored by trust secretary Sri. Babuprasad. Also, Manu Kannanthanam (Documentary Director), Master. Madhav Hari (Kochaovva Paulo Ayyappa Coehlo fame), Master. Adithya Chandra Prasanth (a young scientist), Sri Saji, Sajis studio (Documentary director) were felicitated by Sri. Ramesh Chennithala on behalf of Padmarajan trust.

The book “Jeevathayerunna Devathakal”, written by Dr. R. Rajesh, and the book” Dalamarmarangal” written by Vinu Abraham, were released during the function. The second half of the workshop session was driven by Smt. Vidhu Vincent, Director of the film “Manhole”. She shared her experiences on the making of the film. Sri. Appu Bhattathiri, who is the editor of the film also delivered a very informative session on editing. Padamarajan’s movies were screened during evenings on all three days. Padmarajan Memorial Trust expresses its gratitude to all well-wishers and participants, who made the function a grand success.

It’s again January. It’s padmarajan’s 26th death anniversary day on 23rd January 2017. Padmarajan Memorial Trust is conducting rememberance function from 21st to 23rd at Padmarajan’s ancestoral house Njavarakkal in Muthukalm.

The key highlights of this year’s function are as follows.

9:30 AM to 5 PM: - Various literary competitions will be held for School and College Students.
23.01.17
9:00 AM: - “Pushparchana” . People from various walks of life shall offer flowers at his resting place.
9:30 AM: - “Rachana”. A workshop on film and literature, in which college and higher secondary students will participate
The Rememberance function will be inaugurated by Opposition leader Shri. Ramesh Chennithala.
On all the three days there will be display of paintings by renowned artists Shri. Bhattathiri and K. P. Muralidharan, based on Padmarajan’s novels and short stories.
Also there will be screening of Padmarajan films on all the three days.

24th “Padmarajan Puraskaram” award function was held at “Bharath Bhavan”, Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, on 23rd May. The function was presided by chairman, of Padmarajan Memorial trust, Shri. Gandhimathi Balan, Shri. Babuprasad, Trust secretary, conveyed the welcome speech.

Shri. Dr. George Onakkoor, jury chairman for short story gave away the prize to the award winner, Shri E.P. Sreekumar, for his story, “ Adhwaana vetta”, further George Onakkoor rendered jury’s statement and views for selecting this creation.

The award for the best feature film and script were awarded to Shri. Salim Ahammed, producer, director and scriptwriter of the film “Pathemaari”, by Shri. Gandhimathi Balan, also the jury member for the feature film section, as well he recited the jury’s statement for selection of this film.

Padmarajan’s confidant Shri. Karikkath Unni Menon, the inspiration for Mohanlal’s character “Jayakrishnan” in the film Thoovanathumbikal, rendered the commemorative speech. Sharing his fond memories about good times he had with padmarajan, narrated how those moments inspired and changed his life positively.

Award winners expressed their gratitude in acceptance speech.

24th “Padmarajan Puraskaram”, Annual award bestowed for the best feature film and short story for the year 2015 will be distributed on 23rd May 2016, Padmarajan’s birth anniversary.

The award for best film and script goes to the film “Pathemaari”, directed and scripted by Salim Ahammed. ,E.P sreekumar’s “Adhwaana Vetta” earned the award for the best short story.

The award winning film shall be screened after the award distribution.

It was the 25th year of remembrance of Padmarajan. A 4 -day long remembrance fete conducted by Padmarajan Memorial Trust was held at the writer's place of birth. The function held at Muthukulam, at his ancestral home premises. Inaugurating the function Suresh Gopi reiterated the Universal element in Padmarajan's works. He requested the authorities the need for a memorial at the artist's birth place.

On 23rd a bee line of film and literary luminaries formed at Muthukualm. Star directors Lal jose, Blessy, Padmarajan’s contemporaries, co-workers and friends assembled to pay glowing tributes to the Master teller. (PremPrakash, Venu, JoshyMathew, K.K.Sudhakaran etc). The function was well attended by youngsters like Shankar Ramakrishnan, K.B.Venu, VinuAbraham etc

Ministers of State, Home Minister RameshChennithala and Minister of Social Welfare Dr.M.K.Muneer attended the Evening Session.

The function was concluded on January 25 with the remembrance speeches of Jayaram, Mukesh, and UnniBalakrishnan ( News Head, Mathrubhumi Tv). Trust secretary BabuPrasad took the rein of proceedings and presented souveneirs to all the Guests. There were painting exhibitions by Muraleedharan and Bhattathiri on Padmarajan stories. An exhibition of his Film Posters was organised by Prof. M.C.Vasisht of Malabar Christian College. Dr.Preeth from Thalayolapparambu exhibited a vast collection of Paper reports about Padmarajan at the venue. All the exhibitions were voluntary.

A collection of writings by students of Malabar Christian College, Kozhikode, on “Padmarajan Heroines on Screen” was released at the function. A documentary made by College students on Padmarajan was premiered along with films of Padmarajan on all 4 days at the venue. There were creative workshops and competition for students and the winners were awarded Prizes during the function.

The silver jubilee year remembrance events shall take place at his ancestral home, “Njavarakkal” in Muthukulam on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd, and 25th of January 2016. Padmarajan Memorial Trust is organizing his commemorative function elaborately spanning 4 days enriched with dignitaries from social and cultural fraternity.

B Venu (Director) shall share dias to reminisce their experience with Padmarajan.

23rd "Padmarajan Puraskaram" , Annual awards in commemoration of Padmarajan, for feature film and short story for 2014 were distributed on May 22nd, 2015 at VJT Hall, Thiruvananthapuram by Malayalam University Vice Chancellor Sri. K Jayakumar I.A.S . The honor for the feature film category was bestowed to “Ain" written and directed by Siddharth Shiva and the award for the short story category was awarded to Socrates K Valath for his story “Nyaya vidhi”.

Renowned writer S. Bhasurachandran shared his experience with Padmarajan . Padmarajan Memorial Trust Secretary Adv. Babu Prasad rendered the welcome speech and K.Padmanabha Panicker gave the vote of thanks. The award winning film Ain was projected after the award function.

Padmarajan Memorial Trust cordially invites you all for the Padmarajan Memorial Annual award (Padmarajan Puraskaram - 2014) felicitation function to be held on May 22nd 2015.

‘Ain’, the movie directed by Siddharth Siva, has bagged the award for the best movie. ‘Nyayavidhi’, written by Socrates K Valath, won the award for the best short story of 2014.

The jury for the best short story consisted of Malayalam University Vice Chancellor Shri. K Jayakumar I.A.S, writer Shri S Bhasurachandran and Adv. B Babuprasad.

Shri.Mohan(Director), Shri. Vijayakrishnan (Director), Shri. Sudevan (Director), Smt. K.Y Radhalakshamy and Shri.Sarathchandran were the jury for the best movie.

24th “Padmarajan Anusmaranam” was held at “Njavarakkal” Muthukulam from Jan 21st to 23rd. This year’s function was well lauded for organizing and the participation.

Competitions on script writing, story writing and elocution were held for school and college students. The prize winners in various competitions were given certificates by Jayaram after the Commemorative (anusmaranam )function.

“Rachana” –a workshop on cinema and literature was held with active participation from students and audience. The students and audience were passionate to clarify their doubts and learn more on literature writing, the technical sides of cinema as well understand more of the personal experiences from the eminent panel members.

The workshop on cinema was led by panel of notable personalities from the film industry including, yesteryear director shri. Kaviyoor Sivaprasad , Director Dr. Vijayakrishnan,Director Shri. Joshy Mathew, Budding director Shri. Sanalkumar Sasidharan, Film producer Shri. Anildev, Budding editor shri. Appu Bhattathiri and Padmarajan’s associate Shri. Sreekumar . Workshop on literature was led by Shri. K.G Prageesh and Shri. Ratish(Mathrubhumi daily).

Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan inaugurated the painting exhibition named “Colours of Ages” portraying various works and characters of Padmarajans works, portrayed by renowned painter Sri Bhattathiri.

Superstar Padmasree. Jayaram inaugurated the Commemorative (anusmaranam )function .Jayaram shared some of his experiences he had with Padmarajan ,during the screening photo session of his debut film Aparan. On behalf of Padmarajan Memorial Trust, we welcome all for the 24th Padmarajan’s annual commemorative (“Padmarajan Anusmaranam” ) function, Which is scheduled from January 21st to 23rd January 2015, at his ancestral house “Njavarakkal” at Muthukulam village, Alappuzha .

The commemorative (“Anusmaranam”) gathering will be from 04:00 p.m. on January 23rd, 2015, which shall be inaugurated by the Malayalam superstar, Padmasree. Shri Jayaram. There shall be workshops and discussions on cinema and literature on same day from 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m. chaired by eminent personalities of the respective domains.

On the 1st day, Jan 21st an exhibition of Artist Bhattathiri’s paintings “Colors of Age” will take place at the main venue. On the 2nd day, Jan 22nd, there shall be painting and essay competitions for students. We wish all of you gather in great numbers and make the function a success.

22nd "Padmarajan Puraskaram" for best feature film and best short story of 2013 were distributed on May 23rd, 2014 at Mascot hotel, Thiruvananthapuram, by Honorable Minister for Panchayats and social justice Sri M.K Muneer . The honor for the best short story of 2013 was bestowed to "Kaathiruppu" written by renowned writer Sri Anand. Sri. KC Narayanan, Editor- Bhashaposhini, collected the award on behalf of winner. The Award for the best script and the best film were received by Sri. Sudevan, who directed and made the script for the film "Crime no. 89".

Renowned writer S. V. Venugopan Nair shared his experience with Padmarajan during their college days. Prof. V. Madhusoodanan Nair and Film director Blessy also commemorated Padmarajan on the occasion. Padmarajan Memorial Trust Secretary Adv. Babu Prasad rendered the welcome speech and Trust Chairman Sri. Gandhimathi Balan rendered the presidential address. K.Padmanabha Panicker, working secretary of trust gave the vote of thanks.

Padmarajans 23rd death anniversary function named "Padmarajan Anusmaranam" will be held on 21st, 22nd and 23rd of January 2014 at Padmarajan's ancestoral home "Njavarakkal", Muthukulam.

Competiotions on painting, drawing, short story and essay writing for school and college students will be held on 22nd. On 23rd, the function will be inaugurated by Hon. Home Minister shri. Ramesh Chennithala.

Baburaj(Member - Kerala Lalithakala Academy) , Sathish Muthukulam(Script writer), Babitha Jayan, Hareendranath, Dr. R Rajesh, Dr. S Vijayakumar and Kum. A K Droupadi, who proved themselves in various fields will be honoured during this occasion. Following that, "Rachana", a workshop on cinema and literature will be conducted for higher secondary and college students. The workshop will be inaugurated by the famous poet and film director Shri. Sreekumaran Thampy. Menaka Suresh(Actress), Suresh kumar(Film Producer), Gandhimathy Balan(Vice Chairman, Chalachithra Academy), Asokan(Actor), Kalabhavan Rahman(Actor), Sabari(Actor), Hareendranath, Devika(TV Serial Actress), Sathish Muthukulam(Script Writer), Sajin Raghavan(Film Director) and Murali Nellanad(Script Writer) will take part in the workshop.

"Ellavidha Nasangalum Nerunnu", book written by Vishnu S Bhattathiri, and "Thoovanathumbikal Veendum Nanayumbol", book written by Praveen mash will be released.

21st Padmarajan puraskaram for best feature film and best short story of 2012 were distributed on May 23rd, 2013 at Thiruvananthapuram. The honor for the best short story of 2012 was bestowed to Smt E K Sheeba's "Play station", by the renowned director T K Rajeev kumar. The award had cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and memento. The honor for the best feature film was distributed by Director K R Mohanan to its director Sri Manoj Kana and producer Sri. Priyesh Kumar, for the film "Chayilyam". The award contained cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and memento.

Renowned Playback singer G Venugopal shared his experience as a singer while working in Padmarajan movies.

The book, "Vasanthathinte Abhrajalakam", written by Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan, on Padmarajan's 16 films was released during the function. The book was released by renowned cinematographer Sri. Ramachandrababu by giving it to Kum. Anupama, heroine of "Chayilyam".

Trust secretary Adv. Babu Prasad, Gandhimathi Balan, Manoj kana, E K sheeba, T K Rajeevkumar, Priyesh Kumar, and K R Mohanan rendered short speeches on the occasion.

Film Chayilyam was projected after the award function.

Padmarajan "Anusmaranam" 2013 took place at Padmarajan's family house 'Njavarakkal, Muthukulam from 21.01.2013 to 23.01.2013.

On January 23rd, "Padmarajan Anusmaranam "started by lighting the lamp at Padmarajan's resting place. People from various areas of life offered flowers at his resting place. After this an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings done by Shri. Bhattathiri named 'Colours of Age' was inaugurated by film director Suresh Unnithan. Further, Suresh Unnithan and Venu B Nair (film director) distributed the certificates for the winners of various competitions held for students on January 21st. Suresh Unnithan released the annual Souvenir by giving the first print it to Padmarajan's brother P. Padmadharan.

Following this, a workshop named 'Rachana' on cinema and literature was held. Suresh Unnithan, Venu B Nair, Vinu Abraham and Anildev mediated the debate. M. Rajeevkumar shared his memories with Padmarajan while working in All India Radio. Renowned cinematographer Santhosh Sivan joined the team in post lunch discussions.

Smt. R Lopa, who won the Kendra Sahithya Academy "YUVA PURASKAR" for her collection of poetries - "PARASPARAM", who also hails from the locality(Haripad) was honoured during the session by Santhosh Sivan .

After the workshop, the crew of the TV serial 'Pattu saree' addressed the audience. Following, a documentary -"Kuttanattile Karshakan", directed by Santhosh Sivan was screened.

On 21st, 22nd and 23rd evenings, Padmarajan films (Moonnampakkam, Ee Thanutha Veluppankaalathu and Njan Gandharvan) were shown.

Padmarajan Annual Awards (Padmarajan Puraskaram) 2011 took place on 23rd May 2012 at Mascot Hotel in Trivandrum. Padmarajan's son AnanthaPadmanabhan and daughter Madhavikutty lighted the lamp. Padmarajan Memorial Trust Gen. Secretary Babuprasad welcomed the dignitaries and guests and inauguration of the event was made by Hon. Minister for Cultural affairs Sri. K C Joseph. Padmarajan Trust President Sri. Gandhimathy Balan delivered the Presidential address.

Padmarajan awards for the best film and best short story of 2011 were bestowed by Hon. Minister Sri. K C Joseph to Mr. Ranjith(director and script writer of the film 'Indian Rupee') and to Mr.P Surendran , for his work 'Gautama vishadayogam'. Renowned poet and Padmarajan's teacher in University College, Trivandrum, Sri. ONV Kurup shared his reminiscence about Padmarajan.

Padmarajan Anusmarana committee

Padmarajan’s 21st death anniversary remembrance function took place at Muthukulam, his birth place from Jan 21st to 23rd 2012. On 21st, 22nd and 23rd there were screening of Padmarajan’s films. On 22nd, competitions were conducted on short story writing, script writing, essay writing and painting, for school children. On 23rd of January the function started by offering flowers at Padmarajan’s resting place. People from various aspects of life took part in this.

After that, a workshop on literature and films (‘Rachana’) were conducted by famous personalities from the film and literary fields , the workshop and discussions were moderated by Padmarajan Memorial Trust secretary Sri Babu Prasad (Ex. M L A). The workshop was inaugurated by Sri. Perumbadavam Sreedharan, the renowned Malayalam Writer. Other celebrities who conducted the classes during the morning session included Sri. Vijayakrishnan(Critic, Director), Sri. Vinu Abraham(Writer), Sri. Sajin Raghavan (Director of the film Padmasree Doctor Sarojkumar) and Anil Dev (Film Producer). Afternoon session was conducted by Sri. Satheeshbabu Payyannur (Writer), Shri. K A Sebastian (Writer), Shri. KK Sudhakaran (Writer), V R Jyothish (Editor, Vanitha Magazine). Higher Secondary School Children from different schools attended the workshop.

Sri. Perumbadavam Sreedharan released the annual Souvenir. Sri Sajin Raghavan inaugurated the painting exhibition “colours of Age” based on Padmarajan’s literary themes, portrayed by renowned Artist Sri. Bhattathiri.

The main meeting “Anusmarana Sammelanam” was presided by Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan. Sri. Babu Prasad welcomed the dignitaries . Sri. K C Joseph, Minister for cultural Affairs was the chief guest. Actor Smt. Sukumary and Sri. Gandhimathi Balan (Film Producer) shared their memories while working with Padmarajan. Sri K C Joseph released the book “Padmarajan - Durantha Kamanakalile Gandharvan”, written by Dr. Sajith Evooreth, by giving first copy to Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan. Certificates were distributed for the winners in the various competitions held for school children.
