Padmarajan Annual awards ( Padmarajan Puraskaram) - 2012 will be felicitated on May23rd , 2013 at
Thiruvananthapuram .

Smt. E.K Sheeba's short story "Play Station" earned the best short story title and the film "Chayilyam", scripted and directed by Shri Manoj Kana was picked as the best film for 21st Padmarajan Annual awards.

The honors will be felicitated by Hon. Speaker, Kerala Legislative Assembly , Sri G Karthikeyan.
The award winning film will be projected after the felicitation function.

Padmarajan "Anusmaranam" 2013 took place at Padmarajan's family house 'Njavarakkal, Muthukulam from 21.01.2013 to 23.01.2013.

On January 23rd, "Padmarajan Anusmaranam "started by lighting the lamp at Padmarajan's resting place. People from various areas of life offered flowers at his resting place. After this an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings done by Shri. Bhattathiri named 'Colours of Age' was inaugurated by film director Suresh Unnithan. Further, Suresh Unnithan and Venu B Nair (film director) distributed the certificates for the winners of various competitions held for students on January 21st. Suresh Unnithan released the annual Souvenir by giving the first print it to Padmarajan's brother P. Padmadharan.

Following this, a workshop named 'Rachana' on cinema and literature was held. Suresh Unnithan, Venu B Nair, Vinu Abraham and Anildev mediated the debate. M. Rajeevkumar shared his memories with Padmarajan while working in All India Radio. Renowned cinematographer Santhosh Sivan joined the team in post lunch discussions.

Smt. R Lopa, who won the Kendra Sahithya Academy "YUVA PURASKAR" for her collection of poetries - "PARASPARAM", who also hails from the locality(Haripad) was honoured during the session by Santhosh Sivan .

After the workshop, the crew of the TV serial 'Pattu saree' addressed the audience. Following, a documentary -"Kuttanattile Karshakan", directed by Santhosh Sivan was screened.

On 21st, 22nd and 23rd evenings, Padmarajan films (Moonnampakkam, Ee Thanutha Veluppankaalathu and Njan Gandharvan) were shown.

We, on behalf of Mr Babu Prasad (ex-MLA), General Convener- ‘ Padmarajan Anusmarana committee’, invite you to the Pamdarajan’s 22nd remembrance anniversary function to be held from 21.01.2013 to 23.01.2013 at his family house “Njavarakkal”, Muthukulam. From 21st to 23rd, there will be an exhibition of Artisit Bhattathiri’s Paintings - “Colours of Age”. On Jan 21st, there will be various competitions for Students. On 22nd , the trust honours, Kendra Sahithya Academy Award winner for upcoming writer, R.Lopa and others aswell. The programme ‘Prathibha Vandanam’ will be inaugurated by Shri.Ramesh Chennithala M.L.A On Jan 23rd, there will be a workshop on Films and Literature from 9.30 to 5.00 pm. All are Welcome.

Padmarajan Annual Awards (Padmarajan Puraskaram) 2011 took place on 23rd May 2012 at Mascot Hotel in Trivandrum. Padmarajan's son AnanthaPadmanabhan and daughter Madhavikutty lighted the lamp. Padmarajan Memorial Trust Gen. Secretary Babuprasad welcomed the dignitaries and guests and inauguration of the event was made by Hon. Minister for Cultural affairs Sri. K C Joseph. Padmarajan Trust President Sri. Gandhimathy Balan delivered the Presidential address.

Padmarajan awards for the best film and best short story of 2011 were bestowed by Hon. Minister Sri. K C Joseph to Mr. Ranjith(director and script writer of the film 'Indian Rupee') and to Mr.P Surendran , for his work 'Gautama vishadayogam'. Renowned poet and Padmarajan's teacher in University College, Trivandrum, Sri. ONV Kurup shared his reminiscence about Padmarajan.

Padmarajan Anusmarana committee

Padmarajan’s 21st death anniversary remembrance function took place at Muthukulam, his birth place from Jan 21st to 23rd 2012. On 21st, 22nd and 23rd there were screening of Padmarajan’s films. On 22nd, competitions were conducted on short story writing, script writing, essay writing and painting, for school children. On 23rd of January the function started by offering flowers at Padmarajan’s resting place. People from various aspects of life took part in this.

After that, a workshop on literature and films (‘Rachana’) were conducted by famous personalities from the film and literary fields , the workshop and discussions were moderated by Padmarajan Memorial Trust secretary Sri Babu Prasad (Ex. M L A). The workshop was inaugurated by Sri. Perumbadavam Sreedharan, the renowned Malayalam Writer. Other celebrities who conducted the classes during the morning session included Sri. Vijayakrishnan(Critic, Director), Sri. Vinu Abraham(Writer), Sri. Sajin Raghavan (Director of the film Padmasree Doctor Sarojkumar) and Anil Dev (Film Producer). Afternoon session was conducted by Sri. Satheeshbabu Payyannur (Writer), Shri. K A Sebastian (Writer), Shri. KK Sudhakaran (Writer), V R Jyothish (Editor, Vanitha Magazine). Higher Secondary School Children from different schools attended the workshop.

Sri. Perumbadavam Sreedharan released the annual Souvenir. Sri Sajin Raghavan inaugurated the painting exhibition “colours of Age” based on Padmarajan’s literary themes, portrayed by renowned Artist Sri. Bhattathiri.

The main meeting “Anusmarana Sammelanam” was presided by Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan. Sri. Babu Prasad welcomed the dignitaries . Sri. K C Joseph, Minister for cultural Affairs was the chief guest. Actor Smt. Sukumary and Sri. Gandhimathi Balan (Film Producer) shared their memories while working with Padmarajan. Sri K C Joseph released the book “Padmarajan - Durantha Kamanakalile Gandharvan”, written by Dr. Sajith Evooreth, by giving first copy to Smt. Radhalakshmy Padmarajan. Certificates were distributed for the winners in the various competitions held for school children.
